CA Appoints RNC’s Darren Bolding as CTO

PRESS RELEASES

Cambridge Analytica, the market leader in data analytics and behavioral communications, today announced the appointment of Darren Bolding to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Bolding joins Cambridge Analytica from the Republican National Committee, where he served as CTO, the organization’s most senior technology officer, from November 2015.

Bolding will be responsible for spearheading Cambridge Analytica’s transition to a product-focused company in both the commercial and political arenas. His hiring follows Cambridge Analytica’s successful work on behalf of the Donald J. Trump for President campaign, and the firm’s expansion into commercial services. Bolding will be based out of Cambridge Analytica’s New York office and will begin staffing his team immediately.

While at the RNC, Bolding was critical to building up the Republican Party’s technology and data infrastructure, while adding new tools and processes to support the party’s candidates. Bolding and his team at the RNC collaborated closely with Cambridge Analytica during the successful 2016 presidential campaign in quickly building out a massively scalable database and a suite of products that helped voters better engage with the campaign and the electoral process.

“I’m grateful to my team at the RNC, as well as Chairman Reince Priebus and Chief of Staff Katie Walsh, for the investment and support they provided. Political campaigns are fast moving, high-stakes endeavors and Presidential races take that to another level,” said Darren Bolding, CTO at Cambridge Analytica.

“Working alongside Cambridge Analytica on the Trump campaign, I was hugely impressed by the depth of its data science expertise and the powerful results the team produced."

"Now, Cambridge Analytica is bringing that to a wider commercial and political audience. Data science can be used in innovative ways to build products and services that haven’t even been imagined yet. I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Previously, Bolding held leadership roles with companies in Silicon Valley and Seattle. Much of his experience in technology is with early stage, rapidly growing technology companies, including F5 Networks, Nebula, and Intelius. He has launched products and services ranging from network analysis tools and API’s, to infrastructure and mobile apps and a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. Bolding has led teams that use cloud-first design, and Agile development methodologies to build highly reliable, performant and secure systems that withstood incredible growth.

“Our team was incredibly impressed with Darren’s leadership and innovation at the RNC, which we experienced first-hand while working with him on the Trump campaign,” said Nix. “As Cambridge Analytica continues to expand its commercial and political offerings, we look forward to having Darren’s experience and expertise to help lead the way.”
